Rachael's way of working

Rachael is a compassionate therapist who integrates Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) with mindfulness-based approaches and elements of Compassion Focussed therapy to support each client's mental wellbeing and personal growth. She creates a sensitively held space where clients can explore their experiences at a manageable pace. She offers information and support around mental health difficulties and facilitates techniques and resources that promote healthy coping and overall wellbeing. Rachael is committed to working in an inclusive and collaborative way, ensuring that clients feel supported and empowered throughout their therapy journey.
 

Rachael's background and training

Rachael has extensive experience as a therapist and group worker, facilitating weekly counselling sessions and co-facilitating psychoeducational groups. She is currently also a Counselling Skills Tutor, where she shares responsibility for delivering the COSCA Counselling Skills course.

Rachael holds a SCOTACS Diploma in Counselling and Groupwork with a CBT Approach and a COSCA Certificate in Counselling Skills. Her training includes a focus on trauma-informed care, anti-oppressive practice, mindfulness-based cognitive therapy, polyvagal theory and compassion focussed therapy.

Rachael is a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
