Cognitive-behaviour therapy, also commonly known as CBT or cognitive behavioural therapy is a structured type of therapy. It works with how we view and interact with the world around us. Often how we see the world is distorted by our beliefs and this can in turn affect how we behave. The result can be low mood, depression, anxiety and upset.

Is cognitive behaviour therapy effective?

Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy
Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy is a specific type of therapy which combines cognitive therapy and meditation techniques. It has been specifically developed to reduce relapse and recurrence of depression. It also has been shown to help people with anxiety disorders, bipolar disorders, chronic fatigue syndrome and insomnia.
